چکیده
Abstract Climate change impacts are of a particular concern in small mountain ranges, where cold-adapted plant species have their optimum zone the upper bioclimatic belts. This is commonly case Mediterranean mountains, which often harbour high numbers endemic species, enhancing risk biodiversity losses. study deals with shifts vascular diversity zones Sierra Nevada, Spain, relation climatic parameters during past two decades. We used vegetation data from permanent plots three surveys GLORIA regions, spanning period 18 years (2001–2019); ERA5 temperature and precipitation data; snow cover durations, derived on-site soil data. Relationships between patterns climate factors were analysed using GLMMs. Species richness showed decline 2001 2008, increased thereafter. slightly but significantly, although not for species. While endemics underwent losses proportional to non-endemics, more widespread shrub increased. Precipitation tended increase last decade, after downward trend since 1960. was positively related richness, colonisation events, cover, negatively disappearance events. Longer duration rising temperatures also increasing numbers, changes. The rapid biotic responses alpine plants indicate tight synchronisation fluctuations, especially water availability. Thus, it rather confirms concerns about losses, if projections combination decreasing hold true.

Dataset of Passerine bird communities in a Mediterranean high mountain (Sierra Nevada, Spain)
In this data paper, a dataset of passerine bird communities is described in Sierra Nevada, a Mediterranean high mountain located in southern Spain. The dataset includes occurrence data from bird surveys conducted in four representative ecosystem types of Sierra Nevada from 2008 to 2015. For each visit, bird species numbers as well as distance to the transect line were recorded. A total of 27847...
متن کاملDataset of Phenology of Mediterranean high-mountain meadows flora (Sierra Nevada, Spain)
Sierra Nevada mountain range (southern Spain) hosts a high number of endemic plant species, being one of the most important biodiversity hotspots in the Mediterranean basin. The high-mountain meadow ecosystems (borreguiles) harbour a large number of endemic and threatened plant species. In this data paper, we describe a dataset of the flora inhabiting this threatened ecosystem in this Mediterra...

Xenoliths hosted by Cenozoic volcanic flows and plugs from the Central Sierra Nevada and Eastern Sierra Nevada, Owens Valley, and Inyo Mountains were studied for petrography and thermobarometry. The Central Sierra Nevada suite consists of abundant lower crustal feldspathic granulites, garnet clinopyroxenites, and mantle-derived peridotites and garnet websterites. Mafic crustal assemblages occur...
متن کاملSinfonevada: Dataset of Floristic diversity in Sierra Nevada forests (SE Spain)
The Sinfonevada database is a forest inventory that contains information on the forest ecosystem in the Sierra Nevada mountains (SE Spain). The Sinfonevada dataset contains more than 7,500 occurrence records belonging to 270 taxa (24 of these threatened) from floristic inventories of the Sinfonevada Forest inventory. Expert field workers collected the information. The whole dataset underwent a ...
متن کاملPlant Diversity and Invasives in Blue Oak Savannas of the Southern Sierra Nevada
Blue oak savannas were found to be substantially more diverse at all scales from localized point diversity to the community scale, than higher elevation shrubland and coniferous forests in the southern Sierra Nevada. Also, alien plants were more diverse and represented a substantial fraction of the understory flora in these blue oak savannas, comprising threefourths of the species at the smalle...
